My family cook rice every day and have used different rice cookers for over three decades. Sanyo ECJ-JG10W is the best we ever used. When I received the rice cooker from Amazon, I got a chance to test it. Few months ago I bought 50 pounds of rice at C****o as it's 60% off regular price. Well, you get what you pay for. The rice got no taste or smell at all and we can tell that it's been sitting in the warehouse for a long long time. After few tries we gave up on it. As I got the new rice cooker, I used it to cook that old rice to see how good the rice cooker would be. It's very easy to use. Push the "start" button, wait for 40 minutes and the rice is ready. I was amazed by the magic it did. The rice was incredibly delicious. It's as delicious as the regular Japanese rice. I tried different white rice on it and the rice cooker upgraded them all! It's a little bit pricy but it's worth it. Right afterwards I purchased a speciallized cookbook with many recipes to do on a rice cooker and found out there were many of them that needed a larger size bowl and a steamer. I had to replace my Zojirushi for a Sanyo with induction heating and a lot more options to control the rice texture and many things I could not do. Then it just stopped working. Nothing worked except for clock. I called the customer service and was told to send a fax of the receipt, which I did, but never heard from them again. The product is not worth your time and money....
