When I cooked my first batch of rice with this cooker I was surprised that the manual calls for a 1 to 1 ratio of water to rice. With my previous experience I thought that this was absurd and that the rice would not be cooked thouroughly. I followed the instructions and the rice was cooked to perfection! I have not used the cooker for anything else besides rice, but so far I am very pleased! It worked great for nearly 10 years and finally the non-sticky layer was worn out, so I bought this SR-G18FG 10 Cup Rice Cooker/Steamer. It works great so far just as I'd expect.
