Makes one to three cups of rice (white or brown), has a smaller footprint on the counter than a blender, and there's nothing fancy in the construction to go wrong. Came beautifully and carefully boxed, quicker than expected....no complaints whatsoever.It works like those counter-top egg boilers: in addition to adding water to the one to three cups of raw rice - using the fill lines embossed in the pot as your guide - you then use their measuring cup to add a smaller amount of water under the pot. The cooker will sense when this water has boiled dry and turn off the active heating element; the pot will be kept warm for 2 hours after that unless the unit is unplugged. For brown rice, put double the water you would for white rice underneath.
