I have not tried the veg. warmer yet but I managed to cook a vegetable soup in the cooker. I have to manually turn off the switch after 20-30 min. but it can cook a soup as well. It is really ideal for traveling. I think the designer of this kind of cooker should consider a handle to carry (no handle right now) and dual voltage capacity for traveling. These two points are to be improved for the future design. Price is in a slightly steep side for the size. But this little rice cooker came in handy on my recent vacation. I was able to pack it in my luggage, and cook rice and other things that fit my dietary restrictions. It worked perfectly and made great tasting rice. No complaints at all. It may be small, but it made plenty of rice for two people.I would not only recommend this to the rice cooker aficionados but to those suffering from various food intolerances....
