Everything (brown rice, sushi, steel cut oatmeal, sweet sticky rice, etc) comes out perfectly. I would never be able to cook such perfect rice on the stove. I thought that I made a mistake of not buying 10 cup model, but 2-3 cups is what I end up cooking for a family of 4 (and we have the leftovers). I am so impressed with Zojirushi, would definitely buy their products in the future. The trick is also to buy good quality rice from Asian grocery stores. Love it and don't understand why so many of my non asian friends never use one. At this point this seems like #1 appliance to have. I own other Zojirushi products, and they have all been fantastic. Very well-built and reliable. I did a lot of research before buying this item. I'm very pleased with my purchase. The IH makes a big difference, the rice comes out perfect every time. I eat a lot of rice so this is one of my most frequently used appliances. Making okayu and steel-cut oats is so easy. The timer function is a big time saver. I just fill it up the night before and rice is ready in the morning for breakfast (or lunch/dinner). Easy to follow instructions which takes away the guess work on how much water to put in. Size is just enough for a small party. Plays music when you start cooking and when it finishes....
