Aroma NRC-600 Nutriware 16-Cup Pot-Style Rice Cooker and Food Steamer

This review is from: Aroma NRC-600 Nutriware 16-Cup Pot-Style Rice Cooker and Food Steamerfirst impression about this cooker is the stainless steel cooking bowlafter reading about the drawbacks of non stick cooking elements. i attempt to try thiswe use this cooker to cook rice daily. and the rice comes out very well and it is fluffy also.some rice sticks at the bottom. but we can avoid sticking by doing this1. don't put rice in warm mode for longer2. do not take rice from the cooker immediately after it is done. leave it in the cooker for half an hour(unplugged)if little rice sticks at bottom, we don't mind. because it is stainless steelthe steamer is good to cook vegetablesi give 5stars since the stainless steel bowl is of good quality....This review is from: Aroma NRC-600 Nutriware 16-Cup Pot-Style Rice Cooker and Food SteamerI bought this rice cooker after many hours of searching for something non-teflon & non-aluminum that was under $100. The only other option was a clay pot version, but if one broke or cracked, I'd be out money and the time of waiting for a replacement.Pros:-steel pot with steel steaming insert-solid construction-steams vegetables great and quicklyCons:-cooked rice was DRY, no matter what ratio of water to rice I used-dry rice sticks to pot (granted, it's steel, but it's a pain to scrub)-no timer function. it's on, warming (drying out more like), or off-expensive for its functionality. I do better with a conventional pot with insert on a stove-topSumming it up:I don't know what to recommend if you want steel or something non-toxic, but I'd avoid this rice cooker. I believe the cookers with a latch top are much better at sealing in the moisture....This review is from: Aroma NRC-600 Nutriware 16-Cup Pot-Style Rice Cooker and Food SteamerThe NRC-600 is a stainless steel -- top quality steel (they call it surgical) that is pricey compared to a aluminum or coated-containers. I find it worthwhile to spend more money and we find it valuable given that is top quality steel and not the aluminum or teflon coated rice containers (has health issues/concerns). It has a 2 year manufacturers warranty and you can buy extra container+lid for $32 includes shipping. These container goes with this model base unit (cant use in another Aromo unit). Well rice is starch and if it sticks, soak the container and the rice comes off easily. go treat yourself/family-friends with NRC-600 !!!. Had it for few months, we like it....
